This video chronicles many of my trips for 2021. I did not take pictures in every state that I visited, but most of it is captured here. The music was created by my good friend Rich Carter.

Writing this bio was challenging, and I am a writer. It wasn’t one of those things that most people struggle with, such as writing about themselves because I have been doing that my whole life! And I love it! I’m something like a pro at it! However, I was wondering if I should write this in first person or third person. The professional thing to do is to write it in 3rd person, but I felt like it was far too formal. I wanted to be more personable. So I decided to start by writing this dissertation about my thought process before actually writing the “about me.” Welcome to my brain! This is how it works. I set my mind to write about myself and instead I go completely meta and start writing about my thought process about writing about me. Expect some of that on this page. Now to the actual bio.
I am a completely down to earth person. I love to travel the world. I am a historian, and I have been since kindergarten. I played Harriet Tubman in a school play in kindergarten, probably for Black History Month, and my teacher asked us to dress the part. In addition to learning my lines, which I have long since forgotten, either my mom did some research into what Harriet Tubman would have worn in one of our two sets of encyclopedias, or my teacher gave her some additional information. Whatever the case was, I remember hearing some bits and pieces about Harriet Tubman’s life, and I was intrigued. I was so intrigued in fact, that I read every book about Harriet Tubman that I came across. Reading about Harriet Tubman lead me to read about slavery in general, and people like Frederick Douglass and John Brown specifically. The more I learned, the more I wanted to learn. So in college, the natural thing for me to do was to major in History. However, after taking a class called Government and Politics of Africa, and a class called African History class, and seeing almost the same information in both classes, I decided to double major in History and Political Science. This caused me to study history from all over the world, and now I want to travel the world to hear how the other half tells the stories that America has told a certain way for so long.
My best friend was responsible for me getting my first passport. We met at Los Angeles Southwest College. After two years, I transferred to the University of Southern California, and she moved to England to major in English at the University of Kent at Canterbury. I got my passport so that I could travel to her graduation. I lost that passport, and it expired, so I have a new one, and I can’t wait until I have so many stamps in my passport that I run out of pages and have to get a new one!
This is the last thing I am going to say for now. I have a 50/50/50 goal. I want to visit all 50 states in the United States and 50 countries before I turn 50 on November 27, 2025!
So far, I have been to the following states:
I have also been to the following countries:
